1. I was born in the same city as comedian Red Skelton, Vincennes, Indiana, where I was adopted as an infant.
2. I’m a PK – Pastor’s Kid. My dad served as a Presbyterian pastor for 40 years. His influence has certainly rubbed off on me in my career of serving others.
3. I’m the father of two, a son and a daughter. They are college age and beyond. I think I can safely call myself an empty nester.
4. I can’t play card games to save my life. This lack of skills may stem from growing up as a PK.
5. My best friends have been my friends since High School. 
6. The best joke I’ve had played on me happened on April Fool’s Day my sophomore year of high school. I took my driver’s test that day. When I finished parallel parking, the examiner told me I’d failed. After what seemed like an eternity, he grinned and said, “Just kidding, you passed, April Fools!” He got me pretty good on that one. 
7. My first job was delivering the Superior Evening Telegram. There are some great life lessons to be learned from having a paper route as a kid. 
8. I coached my son’s Little League team and my daughter’s soccer squad when they were young.  I’m a believer in the idea that it takes an entire village to raise a child. 
9. I really like 80s music. I try to see the 80s tribute band, Hairball, every chance I get and saw KISS play last summer. 
10. Theodore Roosevelt is a leader I look up to. He was a larger-than-life leader who motivated others to accomplish great things under difficult circumstances. 
11. How can children be most successful in school? While success might look a little different for each of us, making a daily commitment to showing up and doing your best will take a young person far in school - and in life. 
12. My dog, Cooper, is a Weimapeake - Chesapeake Bay Retriever and Weimaraner. He is crazy for the dog park in Spooner!
13. Cooper and I are a certified pet therapy team. It’s a great way to bring some happiness to people who aren’t able to have pets of their own. 
14. Earning my private pilot’s license is at the top of my bucket list. 
15. I’m an old car fanatic. My classic car is a 1962 Chevy Biscayne. 
16. I enjoy just about every outdoor activity. Outdoor opportunities help make northern Wisconsin great.  
17. I’m a history buff. Regional history really interests me. I also like military and aviation history. 
18. I served in the military for 20 years and am proud to be a veteran. My best assignment was as Company Commander, Company B, 724th Engineer Battalion in Spooner and Hayward. 
19. One place I’d like to visit is Germany. I was there once during my military career, but command responsibilities kept me from doing much sightseeing. 
20. My karaoke singing has been described as, ‘not too shabby.’
21. Words can’t express how excited and grateful I am to be the new District Administrator in Spooner. The sense of optimism in the schools and community is awesome! You can’t help but feel confident that the District is ready to move forward in a positive way to make great things happen for children in Spooner.
