SHELL LAKE, WI — Michelle McIntosh is seeking election as a write-in candidate for Mayor of Shell Lake on April 7, highlighting her deep family roots in the community, military service, and commitment to transparency and local growth, according to a press release submitted to DrydenWire.
PRESS RELEASE
My name is Michelle McIntosh, and I am a proud fifth-generation resident of Shell Lake, Wisconsin. This community is more than just my home—it is part of my family’s history and my vision for the future.
I am running for Mayor because I believe Shell Lake deserves leadership that honors our traditions while preparing our town for what’s ahead. As someone who lives and works here, I understand the importance of supporting local families, strengthening small businesses, and preserving the character that makes Shell Lake special. At the same time, I believe we must continue to grow, adapt, and keep our community moving forward with the times.
As a proud member of the United States Army Reserve, I have learned the true meaning of service, accountability, and leadership. The military has strengthened my ability to remain calm under pressure, work as part of a team, and make thoughtful decisions that prioritize the greater good. Service is not just something I speak about—it is something I live every day.
As a young leader with deep roots in this community, I bring energy, dedication, and a fresh perspective to local government. I believe in responsible progress, embracing new ideas, modern solutions, and opportunities for growth while respecting the history and values that define us. My commitment to collaborating with the community ensures that every voice is heard and valued. I have an extensive background working with impressive government budgets. This strength will be a valuable asset for this position along with my strong interpersonal skills and can-do attitude.
My goal as Mayor is simple: To make sure Main Street is thriving again, to have actual transparency, and make sure every Shell Lake voice is heard. I have accepted an offer with the Shell Lake Post that if I am elected, I will be doing a monthly column to prove I am holding up my end of the transparency bargain.
I want to ensure that Shell Lake remains a safe, welcoming, and thriving community—today and for generations to come.
