More Than Just Winter Fun, Chetek Winter Fest is Fundraising!

Fundraising Takes to the Track February 23rd & 24th

The Chetek Area Chamber of Commerce's annual Winter Fest is filled with fun for everyone including straightline snowmobile racing, kids games, soup cook-off, a scavenger hunt throughout town and more. This year, the event is putting a greater focus than ever before on it's fundraising efforts. Several years ago, Chetek Winter Fest chose to support Pink Ribbon Advocacy of Barron County with a fundraising Bikini Run. In 2018, a Human Sled-Dog Race has been added in hopes to expand the fundraising to other charities that support those battling breast cancer.

The Bikini Run involves participants raising pledges and riding a snowmobile down a groomed track. For the Human Sled-Dog Race, 5 person teams (1 musher and 4 "dogs") will compete against each other to see which team can pull the sled fastest. Various awards are given out for best times, top fundraisers, costumes and more. The top female and male fundraiser for the Bikini Run are crowned King & Queen of Winter Fest with the top fundraising sled dog team making up Winter Fest Court. 100% of pledges from both events are donated. Full details & pledge sheets are available on the Chetek Winter Fest website.

Additional fundraising to support the Chetek Area Chamber of Commerce includes Winter Fest raffle tickets, $20 each or 3 for $50, with prizes donated by area businesses and a top prize of a 2017 Polaris Sportsman 570 ATV. New this year are Winter Fest BOGO punch cards, available for $10, offering buy one drink get one free at 11 area establishments. Raffle tickets and BOGO cards are available at area bars, restaurants and from chamber members.
