Crowley Pitches To Kill Minimum-Markup For Gas In Wisconsin

One of the Democrats running for governor wants to kill the state’s minimum-markup law to lower the price of gas. Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley on Thursday suggested that ending Wisconsin’s mandatory price law could save drivers almost 40-cents per-gallon. "Wisconsin families are getting squeezed at the pump by Donald Trump's war and by an outdated state law that has been rigging the price of gas against them for decades," Crowley said in a statement. "Drivers are paying nearly a dollar more per gallon than they did a year ago, and Wisconsin law piles a mandatory 36-cent markup on top of it."

Wisconsin residents can now purchase an annual state park admission pass when they renew their vehicle registration through a new partnership between the Department of Natural Resources and the Department of Motor Vehicles. When renewing registration online, drivers will have the option to add a state park pass to their purchase. Those who choose to buy the pass will make one payment and receive the pass, vehicle registration stickers and certificate of registration together in the mail.

‘This Is A Time To Negotiate’: Recent AI Data Center Deals Signal Boom For Some Wisconsin Businesses

At least $46 billion worth of data centers are being developed in Wisconsin. One analyst told WPR some Wisconsin businesses are cashing in on the rush to develop these facilities in the state. Earlier this month, Waukesha-based manufacturer Generac announced that it signed an agreement to provide backup generators for an unnamed hyperscale data center operator like Google or Microsoft. While Generac CEO Aaron Jagdfeld did not disclose the full amount of the deal, he told CNBC the unnamed data center customer provided Generac $650 million for 2027 alone.
