In a series of 6-3 decisions, the high court ticked off some of its anticipated remaining cases as the justices move closer to their summer recess.

But their rulings didn’t come without friction on the bench.

Trump Gets Negative Reviews Internationally As Fewer Say U.S. Is A Reliable Partner

A new Pew Research Center survey finds negative – and often overwhelmingly negative – views of U.S. President Donald Trump in regions around the globe.

Across 36 nations polled, a median of 23% of adults express confidence in his leadership of world affairs. In many countries, confidence in Trump has slipped since last year.

Overall ratings for the United States are also largely negative. Favorable views of the country have declined in many places over the past year, including double-digit drops in Indonesia, Italy, Nigeria, South Africa, South Korea and Turkey.

A New Bill Calls For $25 Minimum Wage, But Is It Enough?

There’s a new effort in Congress to take the federal minimum wage to a level it has never been before: $25 an hour. If it were to pass, it would be the first time the federal rate has changed since 2009.

While a major jump from the current rate of $7.25 an hour, $25 an hour may still not be enough for some Americans just trying to make ends meet.

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Connecticut) was set to introduce the new legislation on Thursday, according to reports. Its companion bill was introduced earlier this year.

Red Lobster’s Ultimate Endless Shrimp Promotion Described As A ‘Car Crash’ For The Company, Lawsuit Says

Red Lobster’s “Everyday $20 Ultimate Endless Shrimp” offering was described as a “car crash” in a new lawsuit.

“Thai Union doubled down on a campaign to squeeze out every drop of value that it could” from Red Lobster, creditors said.

Thai Union had pressed the restaurant chain to purchase increasing amounts of overpriced shrimp from it to handle the promotion, the lawsuit alleged.

US Men's Team Falls To Turkey 3-2, But Still Advancing To World Cup Knockout Round

The U.S. men's national team fell short to Turkey on Thursday night, 3-2, in their final match of the group stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, dashing their hopes for a historic third straight win.

However, the USMNT has already secured its spot in the round of 32 following back-to-back wins, including a 4-1 opener victory over Paraguay on June 12 and a 2-0 win over Australia on June 19 in Seattle.

Incarcerated Women In Wisconsin Are Separated From Their Babies. Doulas Want That To Change.

Earlier this year, a woman incarcerated in a Wisconsin prison gave birth to a healthy baby boy.

“It was beautiful. I did the best I could with what I was given,” said the woman, who spoke to WPR on the condition of anonymity because she could be penalized for speaking to a reporter.

She knew her time with her newborn would be limited. There were two prison guards present at the birth. And in Wisconsin, incarcerated women have only 24 hours with their newborns. When the mothers return to prison or jail, their children can’t come with them.

DCF Report: Child Care Costs In Wisconsin Are Rising Faster Than Inflation

A new state report shows child care costs in Wisconsin are rising faster than inflation, with families paying an average of 8% more per month for infant care at centers and 13% more for family-based care.

The Department of Children and Families released the findings as child care providers prepare for the end of state bridge payments that helped keep costs down. The 2026 Market Rate Survey found full-time infant care now costs an average of $17,400 per year at centers and $13,000 at family-based programs.

Lakeside Wisconsin Town Will Pay You To Move There, With $9,500 In Cash And Perks

A Wisconsin town with an iconic lighthouse on the southern tip of Lake Winnebago wants you to move there -- and is offering up to $9,500 to do so.

Fond du Lac, with a population of about 44,000, has launched a "new talent attraction program" in hopes of attracting new residents as either remote or local workers, in exchange for $9,500 in relocation and local experiences.

Wisconsin DOJ Announces $275k Settlement With Enbridge Over 2019 Spill

The Wisconsin Department of Justice announced a $275,000 settlement Thursday with energy firm Enbridge in a 2019 spill in Jefferson County.

The state alleged Enbridge violated the spills law by failing to report a release from a faulty valve that occurred on its Line 13 pipeline in Fort Atkinson on April 26, 2019. The company didn’t report the spill to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources until July 31, 2020 — more than a year later.

State law requires immediately reporting a hazardous substance spill by calling the DNR’s 24-hour hotline.

Dems Say They Will Repeal 1849 Abortion Law, Expand Reproductive Rights With Trifecta

Wisconsin Democrats today called to repeal an 1849 abortion law and remove restrictions to reproductive healthcare access across the state if they secure a trifecta later this fall.

“A Democratic trifecta means we can pass laws that protect reproductive rights rather than restrict them. It means we have an Attorney General who will enforce those protections and fight back when they are challenged. It means a Governor who will not sign legislation that strips women’s autonomy away,” Senate Minority Leader Dianne Hesselbein said at a press conference today marking the fourth anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court decision overturning the national right to abortion.
