Some Democrats began calling for President Joe Biden to step aside so the party can nominate another candidate after he stumbled badly in Thursday's debate against his Republican rival, former President Donald Trump.

"This was like a champion boxer who gets in the ring past his prime and needs his corner to throw in the towel," said a Democratic lawmaker, adding that he meant Biden should exit the race.

The Wisconsin Elections Commission today ruled those seeking to recall Assembly Speaker Robin Vos were short of the signatures needed to trigger an election in the 63rd AD he was elected to two years ago.

The commission voted 4-2 to reject the recall petition after ruling several hundred signatures were collected after the deadline in state law.

Days Ahead Of RNC In Milwaukee, Organizers Preparing For ‘Global Spotlight’

Organizers for the 2024 Republican National Convention — which is set to take place in downtown Milwaukee in less than three weeks — say they’re prepared to welcome upwards of 50,000 visitors to the city.

The security perimeter for the convention has been released. Over 4,000 volunteers have been recruited to work the event.

And the stage — which will be “partially floor-mounted” and “partially hung from the ceiling,” according to a statement — is almost set.

Report: Wisconsin Taxpayers To Pay $16.7 Billion Protecting Communities From Climate Change

Wisconsin taxpayers will owe nearly $1 billion per year for the next 17 years to protect their communities from the effects of climate change, according to a new report.

The Center for Climate Integrity released its report “Confronting Wisconsin's Climate Costs” last week. The document estimates the Badger State will need to spend $16.7 billion to protect its communities from the costs of a warmer and wetter climate.

A Draft Order Shows The Wisconsin Supreme Court Plans To Hear A High-Profile Abortion Rights Case

The Wisconsin Supreme Court will hear a lawsuit filed by Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin that asks the court to declare that access to abortion is a right protected by the state constitution, according to a draft court order obtained by Wisconsin Watch.

The draft order also indicates that the court has decided to deny an effort from a coalition of anti-abortion groups — Wisconsin Right to Life, Wisconsin Family Action and Pro-Life Wisconsin — to intervene in the case, but will allow them to file a brief opposing the lawsuit.
