Israel Warns Against Returning To 60 Lebanon Villages

The Israeli military has warned Lebanese citizens not to return to 60 villages in the south of the country, three days into a ceasefire after more than a year of fighting with the Shia armed group Hezbollah.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) published a map showing a swathe of territory several miles deep, which it said residents must not return to. Anyone who did, it said, would be putting themselves in danger.

Russia Launches 'Massive' Drone And Missile Energy Blitz Across Ukraine

All regions of Ukraine were under air raid alerts early Thursday amid Russia's latest long-range drone and missile barrage against the country's energy grid, with almost 1 million people reportedly left without power.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia launched around 100 drones and more than 90 missiles into Ukraine, including projectiles carrying cluster munitions. "Each such attack proves that air defense systems are needed now in Ukraine, where they save lives, and not in storage bases," he added.

Monitor Finds Corrections Taking More Aggressive Approach Toward Youth Prisoners After Counselor’s Death

Following the death of a counselor, the Department of Corrections has taken a more aggressive approach to managing youth prisoners who made perceived threats or were violent, according to a new report.

That includes confining those youths to their rooms for longer periods, while limiting socializing, showers, education with teachers, recreation time, telephone calls and visiting.

Report Ranks Wisconsin Among Worst States For Broadband Internet

A report this fall ranked Wisconsin among the worst states for broadband internet, but state regulators contend there’s discrepancies in the data.

BroadbandNow, a private company that researches broadband trends, released a report in late October that analyzed states based on broadband access, performance and affordability. The analysis relied on data from the Federal Communications Commission and internet service providers, as well as consumer speed tests.

Anglers On Lake Superior Can Harvest Lake Trout Starting Dec. 1

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) reminds anglers that Lake Superior's lake trout season will open on Dec. 1 and run until Sept. 30, 2025, or until the harvest cap is met.

Lake Superior’s Wisconsin waters are divided into two management units: WI-1, which encompasses all waters from Superior to Bark Point (considered the Western Arm), and WI-2, which includes waters from Bark Point to the Michigan border (considered the Apostle Islands region).

Police: Fans Were Rowdier At Packers-Dolphins Game

Green Bay police say fans were a little rowdier at Thursday night’s game between the Packers and Miami Dolphins.

Officers say they responded to 30 calls, including theft, disturbances, Fan Code of Conduct violations and medical calls.

Eleven people were ejected from the stadium. Three were arrested.
