Monday marks 57 years since Neil Armstrong became the first person to walk on the moon, and the United States is now racing to get back there. This time, against China.

NASA’s goal is no longer just flags and footprints. The agency is working to build a permanent base on the moon as part of its Artemis program. Artemis III, the mission that will land astronauts back on the lunar surface, is targeted for 2027, with the base expected to follow under Artemis IV.

The U.S. military carried out a wave of airstrikes in Iran over the weekend as it announced that a third U.S. service member had been killed in military operations since Friday.

Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg told CNBC Monday that the planemaker will need “a couple more years” to repair its finances before launching a new commercial jet.

Airline customers are telling Boeing to focus on improving the reliability and production of its current lineup rather than introducing a new model, Ortberg said.

Eventually, a new plane to better compete with rival Airbus’s A320 family of jets will likely be crucial for Boeing to secure future business.

Taylor Farms Recalls Lettuce In 27 States Amid Cyclosporiasis Outbreak: What To Know

Fruit and vegetable producer Taylor Fresh Foods says it is voluntarily removing all iceberg lettuce sourced from central Mexico from the U.S. market amid an ongoing cyclosporiasis outbreak across the country that has sickened more than 1,600 people.

The shredded lettuce was sold in 27 states between June 29 and July 16: Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin.

Crowley Restarts 2026 Bid For Wisconsin Governor After Rodriguez Quits Race

Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley plans to jump back into the Democratic primary for Wisconsin governor after Lt. Gov. Sara Rodriguez abandoned her campaign for the state’s top office amid a campaign finance scandal.

Crowley will announce his return to the race on July 18, less than two weeks after he dropped out and endorsed Rodriguez, spokesperson Brandon Weathersby confirmed. The move caps a tumultuous chain of events that began on July 13, when Rodriguez said she had fired her campaign manager after discovering her campaign had hundreds of thousands of dollars less on hand than expected.

Crowley Back In Dem Gov Race With Evers’ Endorsement

Ten days after telling voters he had no path to victory, Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley jumped back into the governor’s race today, arguing he is the best Dem candidate to beat likely GOP nominee Tom Tiffany.

Crowley told reporters after his formal announcement the combination of his experience and the backing of Gov. Tony Evers, labor unions and others would create the path to not only winning the Dem nomination Aug. 11, but beating Tiffany in November.

In late June, a couple hundred Republicans gathered at the Elderberry Manor wedding barn in West Bend for a “Freedom Fest” event celebrating the 250th anniversary of America’s founding. The smell of barbecue filled the air. Kids got their faces painted in a tent set up on the lawn. Nearby, people played cornhole, tossing bean bags into targets emblazoned with stars and stripes.

All five Democratic candidates for Wisconsin governor laid out competing plans to address the state's childcare crisis during a forum Sunday.

The candidates agreed Wisconsin needs to do more but offered different approaches to making care more affordable and expanding access. Former Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes proposed eliminating childcare costs entirely for families earning less than $100,000 a year.
