Speaker Mike Johnson’s (R-La.) leadership faces a make-or-break moment this week when the House is expected to consider a Republican proposal to boot him from power — an extraordinary process highlighting the bad blood pulsing through the party in the era of Donald Trump.

The Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) is continuing to investigate the incident that occurred in the Village of Mount Horeb, Wis. on the morning of Wednesday, May 1, 2024.

At approximately 11:11 a.m., a citizen called 911 after witnessing a subject moving toward Mount Horeb Middle School with a backpack and what appeared to be a long gun. Mount Horeb Police Department officers responded to the school where they located a subject who matched the description in the area of the middle school, east of the main entrance at 900 Garfield Street, Mount Horeb, Wisconsin.

Conservative Firm Sues WEC's Meagan Wolfe For Access To Wisconsin Voter List

A conservative law firm known for filing lawsuits aimed at purging voter rolls is suing Wisconsin’s top election administrator for access to the state’s voter registration list.

The Public Interest Legal Foundation, or PILF, is asking a federal judge to declare that Wisconsin Elections Commission Administrator Megan Wolfe violated the federal National Voter Registration Act, or NVRA, because the WEC charges for its voter registration list and does not include voters’ dates of birth.

Milwaukee Men Sentenced To Federal Prison For Pharmacy Robberies And Firearms Offenses

Gregory J. Haanstad, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, announced that on May 2, 2024, four defendants have been sentenced by United States District Judge J.P. Stadtmueller to federal prison terms for their involvement in armed robberies of pharmacies in Milwaukee and other offenses.

According to public court filings, Robert K. Love (age 30) and Theodore D. Smith (age 31) carried out an armed robbery of a pharmacy in Milwaukee on November 3, 2021. Days later, on November 7, 2021, Love, Smith, and Alex M. Rollins (age 31) robbed a second pharmacy in the area. Both robberies involved the brandishing of a handgun, which was used to intimidate, threaten, and physically assault pharmacy staff. The robbers stole significant quantities of controlled substances and then sought to distribute those drugs. A federal grand jury returned indictments against Love, Smith, and Rollins, who all later pleaded guilty.
