'Dead Heat': Trump Pulls Even With Harris In NBC News Poll

Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are deadlocked in the latest national NBC News poll, with Trump bolstered by Republicans coming back home to support him after last month’s rough debate and a subsequent polling deficit, as well as by a favorable voter assessment of Trump’s term as president.

These are among the findings of a new survey released three weeks before Election Day, which also shows Harris’ popularity declining compared to a month ago, after she got a big summertime boost; a massive gender gap between support for Harris and Trump; and voters viewing abortion as a top motivating issue heading into the 2024 vote.

Trump Or Harris? Here Are The 2024 Stakes For Airlines, Banks, EVs, Health Care And More

For airlines, banks, electric vehicle makers, health-care companies, media firms, restaurants and tech giants, the presidential election’s outcome could result in stark differences in the rules they’ll face, the mergers they’ll be allowed to pursue, and the taxes they’ll pay.

Corporate insiders expect Harris to broadly continue President Joe Biden’s policies, including his war on so-called junk fees across industries, although there is hope for a more moderate approach.

The US says it will deploy a high-altitude anti-missile system and a US military crew to Israel to help bolster its air defences after a missile attack from Iran earlier this month.

A Pentagon statement said President Joe Biden had ordered the Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense (Thaad) battery and its crew be sent "to defend Israel".

Iran launched almost 200 ballistic missiles towards Israel on 1 October. The Israeli military said most were intercepted, but a number struck central and southern Israel.

SpaceX Pulls Off Unprecedented Feat, Grabs Descending Rocket With Mechanical Arms

In one of the most dramatic, high-risk space flights to date, SpaceX launched a gargantuan Super Heavy-Starship rocket on an unpiloted test flight Sunday and then used giant "mechazilla" mechanical arms on the pad gantry to pluck the descending first stage out of the sky in an unprecedented feat of engineering.

The Starship upper stage, meanwhile, looped around the planet and re-entered the atmosphere over the Indian Ocean as planned, enduring temperatures nearing 3,000 degrees as it descended to a controlled, on-target splashdown.

FDA Shakes Up Weight Loss Market As Mounjaro Shortage Ends

Federal regulators shook up the booming weight loss drug marketplace when they announced Mounjaro and Zepbound to be no longer in shortage after nearly two years.

Pharmacies that sold unbranded copies of those drugs are mounting a coordinated effort to reverse this decision, as another fight over the wildly popular drugs Ozempic and Wegovy looms.

Mounjaro and Zepbound are both names for the drug tirzepatide, the diabetes and obesity medication made by the multinational pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly. It falls in the same class of drugs as Ozempic and Wegovy, all of them being GLP-1 agonists.
