U.S. Has Used Nearly All Its Stockpile Of Long-range Missiles In Iran War, Sources Say

The U.S. has used nearly all of its global stockpile of long-range precision missiles during the war with Iran, two sources with direct knowledge of the matter tell CBS News.

Specifically, the U.S. has used virtually all of its Army Tactical Missile Systems, known as ATACMS, and Precision Strike Missiles, the sources said. Reuters was first to report that the U.S. had used "virtually all" of its long-range precision missiles during Operation Epic Fury.

China Announces Countermeasures Against Washington, Including Controls On Drone Exports To U.S.

China announced a series of economic measures Wednesday against the United States, including controls on exports of drones to the U.S. and a ban on dealings with six American entities, in response to recent restrictions imposed by Washington.

Tensions are simmering between the world’s two biggest economies ahead of an expected visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping to the U.S. in September, despite signs of warming ties during his meetings with U.S. President Donald Trump in Beijing in May.

SpaceX Revenue Up But Not Profitable: Report

SpaceX, the Elon Musk-led aerospace company, grew revenue but failed to turn a profit over three months ending in June, according to an earnings report issued on Tuesday.

The report, which is the first since the company's June initial public offering (IPO), showed SpaceX generated $7.8 billion in revenue. That figure marks an increase from $4 billion in revenue over the same period a year earlier, exceeding Wall Street expectations, according to Bloomberg.

Anthropic’s Mythos Created Fake Identities To Fool Humans In New Cyber Incident

Anthropic’s Mythos 5 model created fake identities to try to convince a human to approve malicious changes to an open source project, the AI Security Institute said on Tuesday.

The incident was discovered during routine cyber evaluations, with 17 actions coming from Anthropic’s Mythos and 2 from OpenAI’s GPT-5.6-Sol with cyber classifiers.

It comes after a series of cyber breaches carried out by models developed by Anthropic and OpenAI identified in recent weeks.

Man Cut Wire Of Flock Camera In Rhode Island: Police

As backlash against Flock safety cameras grows nationwide, police in Cranston, Rhode Island, say one of theirs was vandalized.

Chief Michael Winquist told NewsNation affiliate WPRI that on July 8, a man was seen climbing up a pole and cutting the wire on a camera in the area of Oaklawn Avenue.

It’s one of 29 in the city’s network of automated license plate-reading cameras.

Democratic Socialists Turn To Hong In Wisconsin With Hopes For Next Big Win

State Rep. Francesca Hong’s (D) steady rise in the Wisconsin gubernatorial race is teeing up the biggest test yet for democratic socialists and the far left this election cycle.

Hong has held a strong lead in the Democratic field ahead of Tuesday’s primary, while establishment Democrats, including Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers, have rallied around Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley.

Evers and others have suggested Hong is unlikely to beat the GOP’s presumptive nominee, Rep. Tom Tiffany, in November and that she could even have a negative effect on Democrats running in competitive downballot races.

Less than a month before primary day in the race for governor, Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley said he’d give it a shot — for the second time.

Ten days after suspending his campaign, saying he had no path to victory, Crowley stood in front of a crowd of supporters in Milwaukee to announce a move that would sound far-fetched in most election cycles. But somehow, in the topsy-turvy Democratic primary of 2026, it seemed right at home.

“Allow me to reintroduce myself,” Crowley said.

Eric Toney Outlines Priorities In Race For Wisconsin Attorney General

Republican Eric Toney, who lost to Attorney General Josh Kaul by roughly 35,000 votes in 2022, is again seeking the office and outlined his priorities in an interview one week before Wisconsin’s August primary.

Toney, a district attorney in Fond du Lac County, is expected to face Kaul — a Democrat seeking a third term — in a general election rematch if both win their respective primaries on Aug. 11.

Sole Donor To Group Backing Hong Has Been Accused Of Being GOP Front Group

Dem gubernatorial candidate Francesca Hong has received another six figures in support from an organization that received all of its funding last month from an outfit that’s been accused of being a GOP front group.

Middle Class Priorities, which has now spent $970,827 to boost Hong in the Dem primary, reported receiving $750,000 from Progressive Prosperity Caucus Inc.

Dem officials in Nebraska in June accused the Progressive Prosperity Caucus of being a GOP front group that meddled in primaries as part of an effort to elevate what were viewed as less electable candidates in the November election.

Madison Gubernatorial Hopeful Hong Responds To Williamson Street Encampment Removal

State Rep. Francesca Hong released a statement Tuesday following the removal of an encampment set up to protest the Madison police shooting death of Corey Ruiz.

Hong represents Wisconsin's 76th Assembly District, which includes the intersection where the July 22 shooting took place. She is considered the front runner in the race for Wisconsin governor, according to recent polling. Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley, Former Department of Administration Secretary Joel Brennan and State Sen. Kelda Roys are also in the race.
