The two candidates clashed on a range of issues, from abortion to immigration to foreign policy. But the forum was notably more civil and policy-focused than the debate between Vice President Harris and former President Trump that took place last month.

It’s unclear how much the event will move the needle, but it could be the last time voters will see a debate involving the top of the ticket before November. Harris has pressed her rival for another showdown, but so far Trump has insisted he won’t do another.

During a Dane County rally, former President Donald Trump today promised to crack down on illegal immigration, cut energy prices in half during his first 12 months in office and to cut taxes.

‘No’ Campaign Far Outspent Proponents Of Failed Wisconsin-Wide Referenda

Opponents of two failed proposals to amend Wisconsin’s Constitution far outspent proponents of the Republican-backed ballot measures, recently filed campaign finance reports show.

During the state’s Aug. 13 primary, 57 percent of of Wisconsin voters rejected the pair of proposals which would have stopped a governor from spending federal funds without the approval of state lawmakers.

Since the start of this year, campaign committees spent about $4.5 million dollars, urging Wisconsinites to vote “no” on the amendments.

Meanwhile, a single campaign committee reported spending just over $15,000 on the proposals between the start of 2024 and late September.

Wisconsin Democrats, Republicans Pick 2024 Presidential Electors

Democrats and Republicans in Wisconsin picked new presidential electors on Oct. 1, almost four years after Republicans from the state posed as fake electors for former President Donald Trump.

The Democratic and Republican legislative caucuses and legislative candidates met in the state Capitol to select 10 people from each party who will represent voters in the 2024 presidential election. The winner of the popular vote in each state determines which party’s electors are sent to the Electoral College, which meets after the election in December to certify the outcome.

Repeat Sex Offender Sentenced To 25 Years In Federal Prison For Attempted Sexual Exploitation Of A Child

Gregory J. Haanstad, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, announced that on September 30, 2024, Senior United States District Judge William C. Griesbach sentenced David J. Fuchs (age: 41), formerly of Janesville, Wisconsin, to 25 years in federal prison for attempting to sexually exploit a child.

According to court records, Fuchs engaged in a conversation with an undercover law enforcement officer from the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office, who was posing online as a 12-year-old girl.

Death Investigation In Village of Caledonia, Wisconsin

The Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) is conducting a death investigating in the Village of Caledonia, Wis. that occurred on the evening of Monday, September 30, 2024.

At approximately 9:03 p.m., Racine police officers initiated a traffic stop with a vehicle involved in a hit and run earlier in the day. The subject of that vehicle did not comply, and officers initiated a pursuit. The subject crashed into a tree at a high rate of speed near the intersection of Four Mile Road and Main St. in the Village of Caledonia, Wis. Law enforcement immediately began lifesaving measures, however, the subject died at the scene.
