BARRON COUNTY — A multi-motorcycle collision on Saturday has resulted in the death of a Rice Lake man, according to a press release from the Barron County Sheriff’s Office.

On Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 10:17 pm the Barron County 911 center received a call of a motorcycle accident on County Hwy M near 19 1⁄2 Ave, just east of Rice Lake.
Deputies from the Barron County Sheriff’s Department along with the Rice Lake Police
Department, Rice Lake Fire Department, Marshfield Medical Center Ambulance, and Life Link Helicopter all responded to the scene.
The initial investigation shows two motorcycles, both traveling south on County Hwy M, collided with each other causing both to lose control. A male subject was flown from the scene but later died at the hospital. The other driver fled the scene but was later located. A third motorcycle may be involved and the case remains under investigation.
The deceased driver was identified as Charles Kee, 37 of Rice Lake.
Tyler Baker, 31 of Rice Lake, was identified as the other driver involved that fled and was later located.
County Hwy M was closed by the Barron County Hwy Department for over four hours and the WI State Patrol is reconstructing the accident.
The crash remains under investigation by the Barron County Sheriff's Department and the WI State Patrol.
