CHIPPEWA COUNTY — A motorcycle vs trailer/truck has resulted in the death of the motorcycle driver, according to a press release from the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office.

On Sunday August 9, 2020 at 1:20pm the Chippewa County Sheriff's Department was notified of a traffic accident on 125th Ave east of S-Hwy 124 in the Town of Eagle Point.
The caller indicated that a motorcycle was east bound on 125th Ave and struck a trailer/truck that was backing out onto the roadway from a private driveway. The caller indicated that the driver of the motorcycle was severely injured. Upon arrival of EMS, an assessment determined that the victim had passed due to his injuries.
The traffic accident investigation determined that speed was a major factor of the accident. A witness (friend of the deceased also riding a motor cycle) stated that he and the victim were traveling well over the posted 55mph speed limit prior to the accident.
The victim was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
