Motorcyclist Killed In Polk County Crash Identified

POLK COUNTY — The Polk County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of the individual who died in a motorcycle incident on Monday, May 5, 2025.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the individual is identified as Dylan Schwerdtfeger, 23, of Deer Park, Wisconsin.

POLK COUNTY — A motorcyclist was killed Monday morning after crashing into a guardrail on Hwy 65 near Bear Lake Drive, according to a press release from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

PRESS RELEASE

On May 5, 2025, at 9:24 AM, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Call Center received a report of a motorcycle crash on Hwy 65, near the intersection of Bear Lake Drive. Deputies and First Responders arrived at the scene and rendered aid to the victim.

The motorcyclist was travelling South on Hwy 65, failed to negotiate the curve, and struck the guardrail. The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased on the scene. Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash.

The identity of the motorcyclist will be released at a later time.

The crash remains under investigation by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
