BURNETT COUNTY — A May 2024 traffic stop in Burnett County tied to an ongoing multi-agency drug investigation led to the seizure of nearly 25 grams of methamphetamine and multiple felony charges against Kayla Bruss, 35, of Somerset, WI, and Jeremiah Wagner, 31, of Cottage Grove, MN.
The cases have since resulted in diverging outcomes for the two individuals involved. Bruss received dismissal of her charges in Burnett County after resolving a related case in St. Croix County.
Wagner’s charges in St. Croix County are scheduled for a jury trial later this year. He was convicted and sentenced in Burnett County when he appeared for a hearing on April 29, 2026.
