Multiple County High-Speed Pursuit Ends After Vehicle Strikes Spike Strips

On August 24th at approximately 11:50 PM, the Polk County Sheriff’s Department was advised by Burnett County Sheriff’s Department of a High Speed Pursuit southbound from the Village of Siren on State Highway 35. Burnett County advised that the vehicle was a white colored, Ford Focus with Alabama license plates registered to a rental company from Alabaster Alabama.

Burnett Deputies advised that speeds were varying from 20 to 100 MPH now in Polk County. Polk County Deputies with the assistance from the Luck and Milltown Police Departments set up Stinger Spike Strips near STH 35 and 280th Ave. The suspect vehicle struck the spike strips and both front tires were deflated. At that time, the vehicle pulled over and a “High Risk Traffic Stop” was conducted.

A subject identified as Randy Dean Search DOB 4/22/1973 was taken into custody without further incident. Burnett County took custody of Mr. Search. No property damage or injuries were incurred during this incident.
