Musical Fundraiser to Benefit Rice Lake Area Free Clinic

Musical Fundraiser to Benefit Rice Lake Area Free Clinic

RICE LAKE -- The Communiversity Symphonic Band and the Red Cedar Choir will join forces on February 25 to raise funds for the Rice Lake Area Free Clinic in a combined performance featuring the music of Antonin Dvorak and traditional folk dances. The concert will take place at 2 pm at the Fine Arts Center at UW-Barron County in Rice Lake, with goodwill offerings accepted in lieu of set ticket prices. As both the band, directed by Mike Joosten, and the choir, directed by Beth Joosten, are collaborations between area community and University of Wisconsin-Barron County musicians, the concert represents a wide range of support for the free clinic.

Funds raised will be used for clinic operating costs, medications, and other needs. The Rice Lake Area Free Clinic, open since 2010, is staffed by volunteer medical personnel and provides healthcare and a connection to community resources for the medically underserved with the continued support of individual donors as well as Marshfield Clinic, Mayo Health System, Spooner Health System, Cumberland Health Care, Ministry Health Care, and Rusk County Memorial Hospital.
