(News Release) On November 23, 2016 at about 11:37 p.m. Sawyer County Sheriff's Office Deputies, assisted by the City of Hayward Police Department, Sawyer County Ambulance EMTs and a Paramedic, the City of Hayward Fire Department and the Town of Hayward Fire Department, responded to a single vehicle crash on State Highway 77 near Eaton Road in the Town of Lenroot. The lone occupant of the vehicle, the operator who was identified as Joseph D. Rady age 21 of Hayward, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The vehicle had been proceeding eastbound on STH 77 at a high rate of speed in excess of 100 mph, when the operator apparently lost control of the vehicle, which left the roadway into a wooded area. The vehicle sustained extensive damage. The operator was found to be deceased.
The crash remains under investigation by the Sawyer County Sheriff's Office and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
