WASHBURN COUNTY -- The Wisconsin State Patrol has released the name of the person who died after a single-vehicle crash near Spooner, WI, earlier this week. The State Patrol identified the person as Judith L Ray, 54 Year Old Female From Springbrook, WI.
The details of the crash are as follows:
On 08-21-17, at approximately 4:12 p.m., a WI State Patrol Trooper responded to a one vehicle crash with injuries on County Highway A near Fred Tripp Road in Washburn County.
Upon arrival an investigation was conducted and it was determined the driver, 48 year-old Lorraine Lampert from Springbrook, WI, was under the influence of alcohol. The female passenger, 54 year-old Judith Ray from Springbrook, WI, sustained injuries and was transported to Stone Lake by ambulance and was then flown out by helicopter to a hospital in Duluth. Ms. Lampert also sustained injuries in the crash and was originally transported by ambulance to the Hayward Hospital, but then flown to a Duluth Hospital also. Prior to Ms. Lampert being flown out to Duluth, a legal blood draw was conducted and Ms. Lampert was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated causing injury.
The passenger, Judith Ray, later succumbed to her injuries sustained in this crash.
Charges for the incident will now be changed and the crash and arrest remain under investigation by the WI State Patrol.

At approximately 8:30 p.m. last night the WI State Patrol was notified that the passenger in the vehicle had succumbed to her injuries and was now a fatality.
Charges for the incident will now be changed and the crash and arrest remain under investigation by the WI State Patrol.
Assisting agencies included Washburn County Sheriff’s Department, Stone Lake Fire Department, and Sawyer County Ambulance.

Passenger Airlifted, Driver Charged with OWI after Single-Vehicle Crash in Washburn County

Lorraine L. Lampert, 48 years of age, from Springbrook, WI has been arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol Spooner Post for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 1st offense.
On 08-21-17, at approximately 4:12 p.m., a WI State Patrol Trooper responded to a one vehicle crash with injuries on County Highway A near Fred Tripp Road in Washburn County.
Upon arrival, an investigation was conducted and it was determined the driver, Ms. Lampert was under the influence of alcohol. The crash and arrest remain under investigation by the WI State Patrol. The Trooper was assisted on scene by Washburn County Deputies.
