Names Released in Fatal Pickup Crash Into Siren Apartment Building

SIREN, WI — Authorities have released the names of the victim and driver involved in a fatal crash on Friday, September 6, 2024, in the Village of Siren.

PRESS RELEASE

At approximately 11:15 a.m. on Friday, September 6, 2024, Burnett County dispatch received a report that a white pickup truck had went through the wall of the Lilac Grove Apartment building. Lilac Grove is located at 24145 1st Avenue in the Village of Siren. Officer Brady Mangen was dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, Officer Mangen observed the pickup had breached the south wall of the structure into a single apartment; he then requested fire and EMS for assistance with extrication and evaluation.

In the course of investigating the scene, a lone occupant of the apartment was found deceased. The victim was identified as Dianne I. Kemp, aged 81, of Siren.

The driver of the vehicle, Linda M. Hill, aged 73, of Siren was taken into custody for testing and interviews.

The investigation is ongoing.
