UPDATE: Names Released In Fatal Polk County Crash

POLK COUNTY -- The names of the victims in the fatal crash in Polk County that occurred on Friday have been released in an updated press release from the Polk County Sheriff's Office today.

(Press Release) -- The driver fatally injured was 16 year old MCKINLEY ERICKSON from Dresser WI. The passenger fatally injured was 15 year old KEGAN KOSHIOL from rural Dresser WI. Our thoughts and Prayers go out to the family and community as we deal with this tragic event.

POLK COUNTY -- The teen-aged driver who was airlifted following the crash in Polk County on Friday that resulted in the death of a juvenile passenger, has succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash and has passed away, according to an updated press release from the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

(Press Release *Update*) -- According to the Polk County Medical Examiner, the driver of the SUV has died as a result of the injuries sustained from the crash.  We extend our sympathy to the families of this tragic incident. Our community mourns the loss of these two fine students.

POLK COUNTY -- A single-vehicle crash in Polk County today has resulted in the death of the juvenile passenger and life-threatening injuries to the driver, according to a press release from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

(Press Release) -- On Friday, February 21st, 2020 at 7:41 am, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a call of a one vehicle rollover on 220th Street a half mile south of Hwy 8, in the Town of St. Croix Falls.

A Sport Utility vehicle was northbound on 220th Street, lost control on icy roadways and entered the east ditch. The SUV rolled over and struck several trees. EMS arrived shortly after the reported accident and attempted life saving measures. A Juvenile passenger of the vehicle received fatal injuries.
The teenage driver received life-threaten injuries and was air lifted to Regions Hospital. Both occupants did appear to be wearing their safety belts. Icy roadway conditions are likely a factor in this accident.

Assisting the Polk County Sheriff’s Office with the crash was Lakes Area Ambulance, St. Croix Falls First Responders, St. Croix Falls Fire, St. Croix Falls Police Department, and the Polk County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The crash remains under investigation by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

Names of the persons involved in the crash will be released at a later date.
