New Appliance Store in Spooner

New Appliance Store in Spooner

(Owner, Dan Manning, Office Manager Kadi Hayden Saunders and service pro Brandon Scherz)

If you live in the Spooner area and are in need of an appliance, look no further. Eminent Services has just opened their new shop right across from the Indianhead Flower Shop on Highway 63.

Owner, Dan Manning, Office Manager Kadi Hayden Saunders and service pro Brandon Scherz are ready to not only show you the host of appliances they carry, but they’re also ready to service not only them, but everything that falls under the ‘handyman’ category.

Dan has been in training to fix and repair things since working for Vivian at Arrow Associated since he was in high school. Since then he’s attended Brown Institute for electronics and with a dad being a mechanic, Dan caught on quickly as to how things work and what needs to be done to keep them running smoothly.

In 2002 he opened his handyman service, which includes a heavy dose of cabin work; opening and closing cabins and maintaining them so their owners only have to turn their key when they arrive; even making sure their fuel tanks are full.

He’s also built a clientele of people who have hired him for light construction, remodeling, painting, drywall, custom cabinets and furniture along with appliance, plumbing and electrical repair. If you need a dock removed or replaced, he’s your man. His motto is “We want to take the work and worry out of your home.” There are only three things he doesn’t do; concrete work, linoleum or carpet laying.

Last August, Dan bought out Arrow Associated and has transferred all Vivian’s appliances to his new location; right on the highway and also planning on carrying used appliances.

A local man and Spooner graduate, Dan knows that money is scarce for some people and these are the folks he’s thinking about as he builds his supply of used machines.

His goal is to carry Whirlpool, Maytag and Amana brands because these are the ones he trusts the most. He also carries Frigidaire.

Dan’s schedule is always full. Not only does he run the new store and the handyman service, he’s a Scout Master for Pack 62. Because of this, the store is only open Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm so he can have his weekends free for scouting.

In his spare time, he and a friend have developed and patented and have a prototype of their invention, a hammock/tent. It’s good for all three seasons and he’s even used it in the winter. They came up with the idea using lawn leaf bags and duck tape and it morphed into the finished product of today, which is basically a hammock encased in a protective cloth-like tube that’s hung between 2 trees.

It looks like a giant brown butterfly chrysalis and it even comes with a circular top complete with screening. The next step that weisemanproducts.com is looking for is a backer, or a buyer for this unusual camping invention.

From the very beginning, Dan’s business ventures have thrived due to the word-of-mouth advertising his customers have given, resulting in repeat business and a steady growth of new customers.
