Just some of the things they are considering for the future is yoga, tumbling, self defense classes, dance and more. The goal of the new Civic Center is to work together with the community to make the Spooner Civic Center and Hanks the monument it was originally intended to be.

The Spooner Civic Center is opening up advertising space to local businesses who would like to to join in their mission and sponsor the building to help keep costs low and to help support the Northwoods Figure Skating Club and SAYHA!

The powerhouse responsible for much of the energy in the new complex is Angela Rew.

Her current titles include manager, marketing, and event coordinator. Hank’s is set to start brunch January 12th and opening for lunch the following week (Monday January 14th). The party room attached to Hank’s is now appropriately titled “The Penalty Box” and is open for reservations for parties up to 125 people. The room already has bookings well into April 2019. They are planning live music, Karaoke, and bar bingo in the near future. The original indoor pool is going to be filled with cement and covered with turf. The Turf Room will be available for playing soccer, golf, and events yet to be scheduled. The large banquet hall is open upstairs with professional catering supplied by chef, Phil Dvorak.
