The Washburn County Sheriff's office has announced a new full-time deputy, according to a press release from Washburn County Sheriff Terry Dryden.

(Press Release) -- Welcome Jovanna "Joy" Helbig as our new full time Deputy Sheriff for Washburn County Sheriff's Office.

Joy started today and is currently in our FTO Program. Her first day is jam packed with swearing in, getting uniforms and equipment, setting her up in our computer systems etc.

We "confiscated" Joy from the Barron County Sheriff's Office (sorry about that Sheriff Fitzgerald, well not really) where she was a dispatcher for 6 years and she worked part time for Cumberland PD as well, as a patrol officer.

We are very pleased to have Joy on board and we look for great things from her and her obvous capabilities. After her many weeks in our FTO she will be issued a squad and patroling this county.
