On November 9th, 2016 Washburn County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the scene of a 3 vehicle crash at the intersection of County Road E and Highway 53 in Trego, WI next to the Trego Travel Center.
According to the documents obtained by DrydenWire.com via Public Records requests, a Ford F150 driven by Wayne Losey of Springbrook, WI was stopped in the median area of Highway 53 at a yield sign and was waiting to cross the southbound lanes of 53.
Millie Rounsville of Duluth, MN was waiting at the stop sign on the opposite side of the County Road E/Highway 53 intersection with two passengers inside her vehicle; one female adult and one female infant.
Another Ford F150, driven by Paul Morgan, of Trego, WI was traveling southbound on 53.
As Morgan approached the intersection of Cty E/Hwy 53, Losey failed to remain at the yield sign and instead accelerated across the southbound lanes of 53, striking Morgan's Ford F150 broadside.
Due to the impact from the crash, Morgan's Ford F150 struck the front end of Millie Rounseville's Toyota Highlander, who was still stopped at the stop sign.
Morgan's vehicle then spun around and crashed backward into the southwest ditch of the intersection.
Morgan suffered non-incapacitating injuries as a result of the crash and medical transport was provided. His vehicle was severely damaged as a result of the crash.
Rounsville was not injured and her Toyota Highlander did not suffer any major damage, however her two passengers did also receive medical transport from the scene for medical follow-up on non-incapacitating injuries.
Losey did not suffer any reported injuries, however his vehicle was severely damaged on the front end. Losey was cited for failure to yield right of way – causing injury. Alcohol is not believed to be a contributing factor in this crash.
