New Slate of Officers Recently Sworn at Spooner AmVets Post 190

SPOONER, Wis. -- A new slate of officers was recently sworn at Spooner AmVets Post 190.  The officers are elected for a one year term.     

Taking over as Commander will be John Leckel who formerly served as Service Officer and Chaplain.  Other newly elected officers include, First Vice Commander, John Oscar, Second Vice Commander, Ken Rouse, Adjutant, Mark Sauer, Finance Officer, Gary Scalzo, Provost Marshal, Al Schieffer, Service Officer, John Hughes, Chaplain, Bill Hoyt, 3 Year Trustee, Shane Corrie, 2 Year Trustee,Terry McNitt, 1 Year Trustee, Dave Hanson and, Judge Advocate and Public Relations Officer, Jim Bishop.

"Our post is dedicated to helping not only veterans in need but citizens in, and at times outside, of our community," said newly elected Commander John Leckel.  He added that this past year we have provided scholarships to students, served as honor guard at veterans funerals and parades, and was involved in numerous civic programs and activities."  

The group meets on every second Wednesday of the month at 6 p.m. at the Veterans Hall.

Not pictured is Al Schieffer, Provost Marshall.
