The School Board approved the contract for Pete Hopke to serve as the new SES Principal at last night's meeting, according to a recent SASD announcement.

We are pleased to have Pete Hopke join the Spooner Area School District (SASD) as the Principal of the Spooner Elementary School (SES). Pete will officially assume his new duties beginning on July 1st.
Mr. Hopke brings a depth of successful experiences to this position. He previously served as a Special Education Teacher in New Richmond and Shell Lake. Most recently he's served as an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Program Support Coach in the Superior School District. Pete also serves as an officer in the Army National Guard and is a recipient of the Bronze Star Award.
Mr. Hopke earned his Bachelors and Masters Degrees from the University of St. Thomas. He went on to receive administrative certification from St. Mary's University.
We are fortunate to have Pete Hopke joining the SASD Leadership Team. His broad base of educational experiences, commitment to teamwork and collaboration as well as his strong track record of child advocacy make him an excellent addition at SES.
