Northwood Teachers Attend WI Teacher Leader Summit

MINONG, Wis. -- A group of teachers from Northwood was selected to be part of the first Wisconsin Teacher Leader Summit in Green Bay, WI April 28 and 29. Northwood was one of fifteen schools participated in this event held at Lambeau Field and included guest speakers: State Superintendent Tony Evers, former US Secretary of Education Dr. John King, the Wisconsin Teacher of the Year, as well as Mason Crosby of the Green Bay Packers. While teachers from across the state listened to inspiring speeches and a panel discussion about the great role teachers play in the lives of students, they also set to work on individual school projects in which their educators were empowered to become leaders within their own districts.

Included on the Northwood team were Tammie Denninger, Karen Duffy, Hope Walker, and Kristina Dryden. Along with the Northwood staff, Kelly Ryder of CESA 12 and Andy Farley of Brookfield, WI assisted the team in the planning stages of their goal in implementing a mentoring program for new staff.
