Northwood Tech students kicked off the start of May with an impressive finish at the 2022 Business Professionals of America (BPA) National Conference held in Dallas, TX.
The Northwood Tech students and their BPA Adviser, Brenda Kretzschmar, attended the national competition whose theme was “Go Beyond Your Limits” which the students certainly embodied as they competed.
Northwood Tech students SonnYa Glinski, Matthew Hoff, Barbara Koch, and Kelly Sigsworth represented three out of the four Northwood Tech campuses competing at the national level after their placements at the state level advanced them to nationals.
The 2022 BPA National Leadership Conference proved to be successful for the group from Northwood Tech as a whole. Below are the placement results for the four BPA students, as well as the Northwood Tech campus that they represent:
- SonnYa Glinski (Rice Lake Campus): Contemporary Issues, 3rd place; and Ethics and Professionalism, 8th place
- Matthew Hoff (Rice Lake Campus): College Accounting, 1st place; and Fundamental Spreadsheet Applications, 8th place
- Barbara Koch (Ashland Campus): Advanced Word Processing, 3rd place; Business Meeting Management Concepts, 3rd place; Administrative Support Concepts, 4th place; and Interview Skills, 4th place.
- Kelly Sigsworth (New Richmond Campus): Fundamental Word Processing, 7th place; Fundamental Spreadsheet Applications, 11th place; and Basic Office Systems & Procedures 13th place.
