The month of March came in like a lion (or like a bear if you are thinking of the new mascot) for Northwood Tech. Four Northwood Tech students and their instructor recently attended the 2022 State Leadership Conference for the Business Professionals of America (BPA) in which each student competed and placed high enough to advance to the national level of competition.
Northwood Tech students SonnYa Glinski, Matthew Hoff, Barbara Koch, and Kelly Sigsworth represented three out of the four Northwood Tech campuses for this conference.
The 2022 State Leadership Conference for the BPA proved to be successful for the group from Northwood Tech as a whole.
In addition to the students’ success, Brenda Kretzschmar, Administrative Coordinator/Office Support Specialist Instructor and BPA Adviser for Northwood Tech, was awarded the 2022 Business Professionals Adviser of the Year for the State of Wisconsin.
Below are the placement results for the four BPA students, as well as the Northwood Tech campus that they represent:
SonnYa Glinski (Rice Lake Campus): Contemporary Issues, 2nd place; Ethics and Professionalism, 2nd place.
Matthew Hoff (Rice Lake Campus): College Accounting, 1st place; Fundamental Spreadsheet Applications, 1st place.
Barbara Koch (Ashland Campus): Advanced Word Processing, 1st place; Interview Skills, 2nd place.
Kelly Sigsworth (New Richmond Campus): Basic Office Systems & Procedures, 1st place; Fundamental Spreadsheet Applications, 2nd place; Fundamental Word Processing, 4th place.
