Northwood Tech to Open Workforce Accelerator in Hayward

SAWYER COUNTY — Northwood Technical College will open a new Workforce Accelerator location this summer, replacing the current Hayward Outreach Center. The Workforce Accelerator, one of three rural access facilities for Northwood Tech, is located within the Trailview Cottages housing project at 10994 Trailview Loop in Hayward.

Workforce Accelerator sites already exist in Ladysmith and St. Croix Falls, with an additional location planned in Hurley this fall. Each location provides local access to educational opportunities and support services so community members can pursue and complete select educational goals close to home.

Northwood Tech staff will be available to respond to inquiries every Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Community Center at Trailview Cottages. Educational opportunities will include GED/HSED and Adult Education programs and access to the College’s mobile training programs. In addition, the space will be used to schedule meetings and to connect students with college support services.

The previous Northwood Tech location at the Windrose Lane location is closing June 1. A ribbon cutting at the new workforce accelerator is planned for late summer. Please call 715-682-4591 with questions or to connect with a Northwood Technical College employee.
