Northwood Technical College To Host Barron County Veterans Outreach Day

RICE LAKE, WI — Northwood Technical College and the Barron County Veteran Service Office will host Barron County Veterans Outreach Day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, at Northwood Tech’s Rice Lake Campus, 1900 College Drive.

The grant-funded community event will honor and support veterans and their families while connecting attendees with benefits, services and other resources. A recognition ceremony will begin at 9 a.m., followed by a benefits fair through 3 p.m. The event will also include breakout sessions, food, music and opportunities to connect with veterans service organizations. Veterans eat free.

Photo and video opportunities will be available during the recognition ceremony and benefits fair. The ceremony will include the posting of the colors, presentation of commemorative coins, a rifle salute and taps. Interviews with event organizers and participating veterans service organizations can be arranged on-site.
