SAWYER COUNTY — A Sawyer County jury has acquitted Alijah Pacheco (18) of Hayward, WI, of all charges stemming from a December 2024 shooting that prompted a community shelter-in-place alert, hospital lockdowns, and an intensive manhunt across the Lac Courte Oreilles area.
After three days in trial with testimony, exhibits, and several hours of deliberations, the jury returned on Wednesday with verdicts of Not Guilty on the charges of Attempted First-Degree Intentional Homicide and First-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety against Pacheco.
