SPOONER, WI — One person has died following a crash that occurred in Spooner, WI, on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, according to a press release from the Spooner Police Department.

On 05-11-2021, at about 12:16 pm, the Spooner Police Department was dispatched to the area of Roundhouse Rd, near Rust Lane, for a report of a car striking railroad cars.
North Ambulance Service, Washburn County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol, Washburn County Coroner’s Office and Spooner Fire Department assisted at the scene.
Roundhouse Rd and Wild River ATV Trail as closed to traffic, during this incident.
The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. No other occupants were in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
The driver was 62 year old male, from Spooner Area.
A crash reconstruction is being conducted by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
No other information will be released at this time, pending completion of the investigation.
