BARRON COUNTY — One person is dead and two others were hospitalized following a shooting at a residence in the City of Barron, according to a press release from the Barron County Sheriff’s Office.
PRESS RELEASE
On October 1st, 2025, the Barron County Sheriff’s Department, Barron Police Department, Cameron Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigations (DCI), and the Rice Lake Police Department responded to a shots-fired call at the address of 650 Candy Lane in the City of Barron.
Upon arrival, officers located a deceased male and a wounded female at the residence. Officers secured the residence and located the suspect with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Officers and Emergency medical personnel attempted life-saving measures on all parties.
The female victim was transported to Barron Mayo Hospital, and her condition is unknown. The suspect was also transported to a medical facility, and his condition is unknown.
We are aware of a disturbing SnapChat video involving this homicide and are working with SnapChat to remove this video.
There is no threat to the public.
Other agencies that responded to the scene included Barron Mayo Ambulance, Barron Fire Department, LifeLink Helicopter and area first responders.
