WASHBURN COUNTY — One person was taken into custody following an incident at a Spooner Residence, according to a press release from the Spooner Police Department.
(Press Release) — On September 2, 2019, at about 7:07 am, the Spooner Police Department was dispatched to a residence, in the City of Spooner. The call was reported as a domestic disturbance. Spooner Police Officers arrived on scene and were assisted by Washburn County Deputies and Shell Lake Police Officer. It was learned that an adult male was inside the residence and this subject told officers to get their weapons ready, as they would need them. Officers observed this subject inside the residence brandishing a large knife.
Officers attempted to make contact with the subject, without success. The Washburn County and Sawyer County Special Response Teams were dispatched to the location, as officers continued to attempt contact with the subject.
When contact was unsuccessful, Chemical Agents were deployed into the residence by Washburn and Sawyer County SRT and the subject exited the residence with ought further incident. The subject was taken into custody and transported to the Washburn County Jail.
