WASHBURN COUNTY (DrydenWire) - Authorities responded to a serious single-vehicle crash on Highway 53 near Sarona late on the night of July 26, 2025, where two occupants were found ejected from the vehicle.
Emergency crews assisted both individuals at the scene, and while the driver, Dante Smith, received a citation for driving without a valid license, the passenger, Sierra Mlejnek, age 22, of Rice Lake, WI, is now facing felony charges.
Mlejnek is charged with Intentionally Causing Bodily Harm to Health Care Providers for allegedly assaulting ambulance personnel during emergency care.
