Passport to Spooner & Beyond Launches for America’s 250th Celebration

SPOONER, WI — As part of Spooner Celebrates America’s 250th, community organizers are launching a new regional initiative designed to encourage residents and visitors alike to explore local businesses and attractions throughout Spooner and the surrounding area.

The Passport to Spooner & Beyond program features a passport-style booklet filled with participating businesses from communities including Spooner, Shell Lake, Trego, and beyond. Participants can purchase a passport booklet, visit participating locations, redeem special offers, and collect stamps along the way, creating a fun keepsake that highlights local experiences and memories.

More than 45 businesses are participating in the inaugural year of the program, representing shops, restaurants, attractions, organizations, and local businesses from across the region.

The passport program will officially run from May 20, 2026, through the end of the year. Passport booklets will be available for purchase at participating passport locations for $5 each.

Organizers hope the program will encourage people to discover new businesses, revisit familiar favorites, and support local communities during the nation’s semiquincentennial celebration.

“This program is really about community connection,” organizers said. “We wanted to create something fun that encourages people to get out, explore the area, support local businesses, and celebrate everything that makes our communities special.”

A full list of participating businesses, passport purchase locations, and a map of participating stops will be available on the Spooner Celebrates America’s 250th Facebook page.
