RUSK COUNTY (DrydenWire) - On Sunday, September 1, 2024, at approximately 11:00p, an traffic incident occurred on HWY 40 north of Bruce, Wisconsin.

According to the the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office, a vehicle was traveling northbound and struck a pedestrian, identified as Alethea R. Frisinger, age 22.

Frisinger was believed to have been walking in the northbound lane, wearing dark clothing in an unlit area of the highway. The impact caused her to be thrown into the east ditch, where she was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to the Sheriff.

The Rusk County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Rusk County Ambulance, Bruce Fire Department, and the Wisconsin State Patrol, responded to the incident.

The case remains under investigation.
