SPOONER, WI -- “We are so fortunate to have a performer of Mr. Kosower’s caliber coming to our area,” said organizers of this Sunday’s pipe organ concert in Spooner. “Anyone in our region with an interest in pipe organ music shouldn’t miss this performance.”

October Airs: A Pipe Organ Concert with Master Organist Paul R. Kosower, begins at 2 pm on Sunday, October 6, with a reception to follow. The venue is the comfortable and acoustically well-designed Spooner Area High School Auditorium. This auditorium which hosts both school and public performances is located at 801 Co Hwy A, Spooner, WI.

No reservations are needed for this third annual organ concert. There is no admission charge and a free will offering will be collected.

Mr. Kosower, a professor emeritus of cello and organ at The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will be performing on the 340-pipe Wicks organ that now resides in the Spooner Auditorium. His program includes both religious and secular music from the 16th through the 20th centuries. The wide range and gorgeous sound of this pipe organ will delight the audience with the joy of organ music.

All proceeds are donated to the Organ Fund maintained by the Spooner Education Foundation for remaining installation expenses and future expenses. The Intermezzo Music Club of Washburn County in partnership with area organists is producing this concert. For more information contact Mary Hemshrot 715-520-0762.
