POLK COUNTY -- A plane crash last night in Polk County has resulted in injuries to the pilot, according to a press release from the Polk County Sheriff's Office.
According to authorities, on Monday, August 9, 2021, at approximately 6p, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from the pilot of a fixed-wing aircraft that had crash-landed in a soybean field near the Osceola Airport.
The pilot, and only occupant in the plane, was transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul for non-life-threatening injuries.
The Sheriff's Office says that the pilot’s name is being withheld at this time.
The crash is being investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board, according to the press release.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office thanks the Osceola Police Department, County Line First Responders, the Osceola Fire Department as well as the Lakes Area Ambulance Service for their quick response and assistance.
