POLK COUNTY — A 78-year-old Balsam Lake man is facing multiple felony charges following an investigation into alleged long-term elder abuse that authorities say left a victim hospitalized with a broken hip.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Polk County Circuit Court, Timothy McShane was taken into custody at the end of January 2026, after law enforcement investigated a domestic incident in Balsam Lake. Investigators allege the victim sustained serious injuries requiring surgery.
The Court has ordered a $10,000 cash bond for McShane and found probable cause to bind him over for further proceedings.
