The months-long impeachment and a two-week-long Senate trial of President Trump came to an end today with the Senate acquitting the President.

Sixty-seven votes were required to convict on each of the two articles alleging "abuse of power" and "obstruction of Congress."

Article 1: Not Guilty

  • 48 senators found the president guilty of Abuse of Power, with 52 senators voting to acquit.

Article 2: Not Guilty

  • 47 senators found the president guilty of Obstruction of Congress, with 53 senators voting to acquit.

With the votes today, President Trump will remain in office.

Trump was only the third president in U.S. history to face an impeachment trial.
