On Sunday, March 18, 2018, at 1:00 p.m., a Barron County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to stop a vehicle on Hwy D south of Barron for a traffic violation and the vehicle failed to stop. A short chase (3.5 miles) took place with speeds reaching 100 mph before the driver came to a stop.
The driver of the vehicle Nicholas Mosay, 31 of Balsam Lake, was taken into custody and is being held in the Barron County Jail on charges of Fleeing an Officer, Operating a Motor Vehicle while Revoked, Operating while Intoxicated 5th Offense, Illegally Posses Prescription Drugs, Felony Bail Jumping and a Probation Hold.
This case is being referred to the Barron County District Attorney’s Office for formal charges.
