Authorities: Incident Along St Croix River; Victim Airlifted

**This Press Release has been updated:  UPDATE: Female Drowning Victim Identified from Incident on St. Croix River**

On July 22, 2017 at 1:39PM, The Polk Co Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a possible drowning along the St Croix River.  The cell phone call mapped to an area south of the Osceola landing.  Osceola Fire and Ambulance immediately responded to the location by boat. A 40yr old female victim was located and CPR was already in progress. The victim was taken to the Osceola Medical Center and later transferred to Regions by helicopter.  It was determined that the Victim and Family members were camping on an Island on the Wisconsin side. While walking in the river, the victim fell and went under. At this time, the condition of the patient is not known. The name of the patient is being withheld.  

Assisting agencies in this incident are, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, National Park Service, Chicago Co Sheriff’s Office and Washington Co Sheriff’s Office.
