RUSK COUNTY (DrydenWire) - Authorities in Rusk County have re-filed felony charges against a former Hawkins, Wisconsin, resident, Daniel Hartman, age 41, following a multi-state investigation into allegations of sexual assault involving a child under the age of 12.

The case stems from information shared with Rusk County law enforcement by Child Protective Services in Pennsylvania and centers on alleged conduct that occurred in Rusk County between 2015 and 2016, according to court records.

Charges, including 1st Degree Sexual Assault of a Child, were originally filed in June 2025, but were later dismissed in September 2025 after the State could not meet its burden. The charges were re-filed in December 2025, and Hartman is due in court in February 2026.
