BARRON COUNTY, WI — A pursuit that began after a driving complaint on Highway 53 traveled through Rice Lake before ending in Cameron, resulting in the arrest of a 31-year-old Chippewa Falls man, according to a news release from the Wisconsin State Patrol Northwest Region Spooner Post.

Steven David Biermann, 31 years of age, from Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, has been arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol Spooner Post for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 2nd offense.
Officers responded to a driving complaint on Highway 53 in Barron County. An Inspector with the Wisconsin State Patrol located the suspect vehicle and attempted a traffic stop on County Trunk Highway (CTH) SS near Rice Lake. The vehicle failed to stop, initiating a pursuit.
The pursuit traveled through the City of Rice Lake and ended on CTH SS in Cameron after law enforcement utilized pursuit intervention techniques.
The driver was taken into custody and transported to the Barron County Jail. The suspect faces charges of fleeing a law enforcement officer and operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (OWI), second offense.
The Wisconsin State Patrol was assisted by the Barron County Sheriff’s Office, Rice Lake Police Department, Barron Police Department, and the Village of Cameron Police Department.
