RUSK COUNTY -- New charges for possession of child pornography have been filed against a registered sex offender following an investigation by DOC Probation and Parole Agents and the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office.

A criminal complaint has been filed against Tracy Conry in Rusk County Circuit Court charging him with 10 counts of possession of child pornography with penalty modifiers for repeat offender and for lifetime supervision of serious sex offender.

The online Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry confirms that Conry is required to register for life as a sex offender from a January 2018 conviction of Class D Felony Child Enticement in Eau Claire County Circuit Court. Online circuit court records show that the Court ordered a withheld sentence for Conry on that conviction with 15 years of probation and 1 year of jail.

In August 2021, Agents for Wisconsin Department of Corrections (DOC) Probation and Parole (P&P) conducted a search at Conry’s residence. The criminal complaint filed against Conry states that the Agents located a laptop concealed in a hidden compartment in a bookshelf at his residence. Agents also found thousands of DVDs, some of which were taken by the P&P Agents for further inspection due to probable probation rules violations.

Online court records show that on August 31, 2021, the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office was notified by a P&P Agent that an image of suspected child pornography had been located while searching through the items seized from Conry’s residence. Law enforcement initiated an investigation and obtained a search warrant for items taken from Conry’s residence.

Over 200 images of child pornography were found on a CD which was among the DVDs seized from Conry’s residence by P&P Agents. The images depicted pre-pubescent male and female children with genitals exposed and/or involved in sexual acts. Other images of child pornography were also located on a DVD that Agents had seized from Conry’s residence.

According to online jail records, Conry has been in the custody of the Rusk County Jail since August 15, 2021. He is facing charges of Domestic Abuse Disorderly Conduct and Battery from an incident that allegedly occurred that day.

Conry appeared most recently on November 20, 2021, for an arraignment regarding his charges of possession of child pornography. He is scheduled to appear again on December 13, 2021.
