MADISON, WI – State Rep. Dave Armstrong (R-Rice Lake) joined his legislative colleagues on the evening of February 15 to hear Governor Tony Evers’ 2023-2025 state budget address.
“One of the major themes of the Governor’s speech was cooperation between his office and the Legislature,” Representative Armstrong said. “To his credit, there are plenty of issues in the budget on which Republicans and Democrats should be able to agree, like improved access to high-speed internet, affordable workforce housing, and childcare. However, the details are important, and I look forward to reviewing the Governor’s proposals and working with my fellow legislators over the next few months to produce a responsible budget that serves the people of Wisconsin. We can begin by stripping out non-fiscal policy items that have no business in a budget document and should instead be introduced as standalone legislation so they can be vetted by the proper committees.”
Now that the Governor’s budget has been made public, Representative Armstrong will hold several listening sessions around the 75th Assembly District, beginning with one in Spooner on February 24.
- Friday, February 24, 6:00-7:00 PM
- Spooner Memorial Library
- 421 High St, Spooner
“I value the feedback I receive from constituents,” Representative Armstrong said. “Whether they attend one of my listening sessions or contact my Capitol office, I look forward to hearing their thoughts on the state budget.”
